CORRECTION:

Apparantly Vista basic is compatible with Vista basic. Remember to read the small print on the download button to ensure you are downloading the correct version of IE 8 for your OX. apparantly he failed to do this and tried to install ie8 for XP not Vista.

our apology for this mis-judgement of microsoft.

I love reviewing  new products. yesterday I heard IE 8 was out. so I set out to test it and review it to see if it indeed was better than Firefox.

I downloaded it quickly. and went to install it on windows Vista Basic. the bottom  of the line in the vista family. it unpacked and started the install, then suddenly stops to tell me that Vista basic is not supported. This had to be a mistake. so I restarted the install this time I right clicked the install file and selected run as administrator, only to have it return the same result.

My question to Microsoft: "how is it that your own Internet Explorer is not compatible or even supported on your own OS? "

This is a first for me. I sent a message to their support. and am awaiting a response from Microsoft on this issue.
